Mozaic Group was formed with the intention of working with the best in the business. Mozaic Group, a Nevada corporation, is an expanding group of stellar researchers with proven expertise and a passion for research. We work seamlessly as a team to accomplish the goals of each engagement—recognizing that each role of the project is integral to achieving excellence overall.

Melissa LeHardy, partner at Mozaic Group, has over thirteen years of marketing research experience, including senior positions at Technology Research, Doxus, and Answers Research. She has been involved in all phases of quantitative and qualitative research, from design to analysis, and has managed countless multi-country international studies for clients including Microsoft, Cisco, IBM, Dell, HP, Symantec, Yahoo! and EMC. Melissa is experienced with high-level multivariate techniques including conjoint/discrete choice and segmentation. A Burke trained moderator, she has conducted thousands of focus groups, one on one interviews, online focus groups and bulletin boards, along with usability testing sessions with both business and consumer audiences.

Brian Van Houten, partner at Mozaic Group, has been involved in client and supplier side market research in both the high-tech and financial services industries since 1995. He’s had direct experience conducting all phases of domestic and international research, including moderating focus groups, conducting one-on-one interviews, and designing and analyzing surveys. His work has included projects focused on innovation, new product development, product optimization, customer satisfaction, pricing and positioning, concept testing, market sizing, and segmentation research. Prior to co-founding Mozaic Group, Brian was Vice President at Doxus/Market Strategies International. He has also held market research positions at Dell Computer, Capital One Financial and Answers Research.

Carolyn Ahlstrom, senior vice president at Mozaic Group, has been conducting market research since 2001, almost exclusively in the area of high technology. She has expertise with both consumer and B2B research, with a special emphasis on technical audiences such as IT professionals and developers. Carolyn is a Riva-trained moderator, experienced in both traditional and online methodologies. Her quantitative expertise includes global research and advanced analytics. Her work has run the gamut from new product development and optimization through go-to-market (pricing, messaging, positioning) to brand research and ongoing tracking. Prior to joining Mozaic Group, Carolyn was a Vice President at Market Strategies International and Phoenix Marketing International. Carolyn has also held research positions at TNS and Temple University’s Institute for Survey Research. Carolyn earned her PhD from Temple University.

Jennifer Beaver, senior project manager at Mozaic Group, is an experienced researcher with a strong sense of client service and a keen eye for detail. She has a long history of successfully managing complex qualitative and quantitative studies both domestic and worldwide, including concept development, positioning, messaging, segmentation, and more. Prior to joining Mozaic Group in 2011, Jennifer spent six years as the program coordinator/client and vendor liaison for a large international law firm. She holds a BA in Psychology from Oglethorpe University, with an emphasis on research and writing.

Matthew Boehm, research manager at Mozaic Group, has over 13 years of experience as a brand manager and marketing professional, with a background in consumer products, healthcare, technology and education. He holds an MA in Anthropology with an emphasis on the use of ethnographic research methods in the evaluation of products, services, and business practices. In addition to his ethnography expertise, he also has extensive experience as a qualitative researcher. Prior to joining Mozaic Group, Matthew managed the development and assessment of product programs, brand messaging, and communication strategies for a range of organizations including Kaiser Permanente, Time Inc., and the Creative Brands Group.

Jacob Brown, vice president at Mozaic Group, has led hundreds of qualitative and quantitative research studies on branding, positioning, messaging, satisfaction, pricing, segmentation, and product innovation. Jacob has extensive experience conducting both domestic and international research for leading technology companies, including Adobe, HP, Intel, Microsoft, Sybase, and Symantec. Jacob brings a strong strategic perspective to his projects, along with an in-depth understanding of the marketing challenges facing companies competing in the enterprise technology space.  His articles on Website Usability Research, Managing Online Surveys, and Conducting International Research have been published in Quirks and the AMA Marketing Journal.  Jacob began his research career at Mercer Management Consulting before becoming a partner at King, Brown & Partners, and later at In-Depth Research.

Elaine Franz, project director at Mozaic Group, is an experienced researcher specializing in the management of multiphase, international research programs combining qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Prior to joining Mozaic Group, Elaine spent 4 years at Doxus/Market Strategies International, where she managed domestic and international research for technology and finance clients. Elaine’s breadth of experience includes new product development, positioning and messaging, pricing and satisfaction-related research as well as segmentation studies. Elaine began her market research career at Gartner, where she spent 6 years managing a wide variety of international research projects.

Lesley Fulton, project manager at Mozaic Group, brings a background of market and social science research to the team.  Before joining Mozaic Group, she spent over 2 years in database and project management at INGATHER Research and Sensory.  Her project management experience includes social networking, public policy, consumer packaged goods and more with her main focus being on sensory testing.  This experience paired with her knowledge of persuasion research has bolstered her ability to understand both the logistics and inner workings of market research projects.  She holds a BS in psychology with an emphasis in social psychology research.

Bethany Grove, research analyst at Mozaic Group, brings a background in qualitative research and attention to detail to the team. With a commitment to service, Bethany continues to develop her experience throughout the project process, from recruitment to data analysis. She holds a BA in Sociology/Anthropology from Hendrix College and an MA in Applied Anthropology from San Jose State University.

Ryan Johnston, research analyst at Mozaic Group, brings prior experience in marketing research and project management from the sports industry to her role as analyst.  Ryan is driven and motivated to provide excellent customer service, attention to detail, and strong analytical skills to both qualitative and quantitative projects.  She holds a Bachelor of Science focused in Business and Economics from the University of Oregon.

Tina Launey, research analyst at Mozaic Group, has a strong background in marketing and academic research. Prior to joining Mozaic Group, Tina managed the direct marketing division for an educational marketing firm, overseeing creative development of print and interactive campaigns, deploying personalized messaging to multiple market segments, and reporting qualitative and quantitative data to clients. She also has experience moderating focus groups with key stakeholders and developing and managing interactive communications, including HTML emails and website design. Tina holds a BA in English and Writing from Oglethorpe University, and a Master’s Degree in Information Science from the University of Tennessee.

Travis Lyle, research analyst at Mozaic Group, has an extensive research background from tech & telecom to CPG, with experience executing all phases of research including international & multi-mode initiatives. He is well-versed in studies focusing on the consumer journey, customer satisfaction, brand & retail landscape, as well as product development, usage and messaging from both the B2B and B2C perspective. Prior to joining Mozaic Group, Travis started his research career at MDC Research before serving in a Senior Analyst position at Market Strategies. He holds a BA in International Business with an emphasis in Marketing from Washington State University.

Amber Reilly, research director at Mozaic Group, is a RIVA-trained moderator well versed in all phases of the market research lifecycle. Her project resume includes experience with numerous forms of qualitative and quantitative research initiatives, managing them from inception through analysis and reporting. Prior to joining the team at Mozaic Group, Amber spent eight years at Issues & Answers Network, Inc. as a senior project manager working in industries such as technology, agriculture, education, healthcare, and finance, and with various government agencies. Amber received her BA in Psychology from Christopher Newport University.

Amy Roy, project director at Mozaic Group, provides expert logistics management in all methodology categories. As the director of Mozaic Group’s PM team, she draws upon her extensive management and logistics expertise to lead PM process development and department administration. Before joining Mozaic Group in 2008, Amy spent four years with Doxus/Market Strategies, where she managed a wide range of international multiphase studies, while directing PM staff/operations for the technology division. Previously, she worked at Answers Research as a Marketing Manager with marcom, sales and project management responsibilities and held marketing roles at Ziff Davis.

Kathryn Winland, senior vice president at Mozaic Group, is a seasoned moderator and experienced researcher with a strong client focus and a holistic understanding of research—from design to implications. Prior to joining Mozaic Group, she was a senior analyst at Doxus/Market Strategies International where she was involved in all phases of both domestic and international research for technology clients. Prior to that, she worked at nQuery, a boutique market research firm where she was the lead project manager with a portfolio that included both qualitative and quantitative work for clients in a variety of industries, including pharmaceuticals, healthcare, financial services and consumer packaged goods. Prior to nQuery, Kathryn worked as an editor for two Atlanta-based publishing and communications companies.
